We're Building Something Special...

The Solano Community Tennis Association was formed in 2021 to enable USTA Adult League play when the three local tennis clubs walked away from the sport post-pandemic. We incorporated in the state of California as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in August 2021 to allow us to fund raise and to participate in USTA programs for CTAs. Although adult league play was our first objective, our By-laws and Mission Statement were drafted to allow us to promote and grow all aspects of the sport in the northern Solano County area. The SCTA is a grassroots effort that has become the voice of tennis in our local communities, advocating for continued development and growth of the tennis family in our area. That includes providing local adult and youth programs and opportunities as well as being involved with local municipalities for use of current tennis courts and plans for future facilities.

Since inception, the SCTA has sponsored 34 USTA Adult league teams each year on the four unlighted tennis courts at Centennial Park in Vacaville. We have negotiated a Special Usage agreement with the City of Vacaville for the use of those courts. We have added Vacaville Pickleball as an autonomous division within the association to speak with a common voice with the city. We have acted as the tennis stakeholder in the development of the revised Centennial Park Master Plan (CPMP) in Vacaville and the draft master plan for the new Matt Garcia Park in Fairfield, ensuring that tennis facilities are included in those plans. We have incorporated the GO Solano vision within the association to provide youth tennis opportunities on the courts at Solano College.

What's next? You are!
We need your energy and ideas to keep the SCTA viable and growing as we move forward.
